get to know me

It's me, Martina!

I’ve always loved travelling with my family and we have always done this using “home exchange” possibilities.

This has allowed us to live the places we visited less as tourists and more as locals and in turn has inspired my way of welcoming guests. This, combined with my love of Rome and with more than 15 years of experience, means that I try to make guests feel like they are at home and that they too are Romans.

I have taken great care to make the flats as homely as possible by paying great attention to even the smallest details.

And over the years I have compiled a “real” guide to my home town where you can find not only the usual tourist information but also information about where the locals really go and essential Italian lifestyle tips such as how to make a real espresso!

All roads lead to Rome but only the lucky traveller arrives at Marty’s Homes in Rome.

come visit!

Why choose one of my apartments

Rome is without a doubt the eternal city.

Indeed the ancient city of Rome has not disappeared but has combined with successive architectural buildings and styles to render today’s Rome a truly unique city.

We Romans are used to living side by side with such a rich history; the Roman aqueducts have become the bridges we cross every day on our way to work, our Sunday walk after lunch often takes us along the ancient Appian Way, when we go for a check up at the hospital we might find ourselves in a beautiful cloister dating from the 1300s where ancient Roman remains are displayed (l’Ospedale Nuovo Regina Margherita), mass may take place in the local church where there are frescoes by Caravaggio, or we could find ourselves eating ice-cream in a piazza of breathtaking Baroque magnificence (San Pietro, piazza Sant’Ignazio di Loyola).
